GOVERNOR EMMANUEL THUMBS-UP NIGERIAN AIR FORCE ON MANPOWER DEVELOPMENT

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, has commended the manpower development initiative of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), saying it’s a step to bolster innovations in the paramilitary for security optimization.

Governor Emmanuel handed down the commendation,Thursday ,while declaring open a 3-day Operations Seminar 2022, organized by the Nigerian Air Force on the theme “Harnessing NAF Combat Experience in Joint Operations for Doctrinal Development”, at Ibom Hall, Uyo.

Governor Emmanuel who was the special guest of honour at the event appreciated the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao, for choosing Akwa Ibom State to host the Operations Seminar and expressed optimism that knowledge garnered will further equip the Nigerian Airforce to meet up with contemporary challenges.

He acknowledged the operations and contributions of the Nigerian Airforce under the watch of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Amao in tackling security challenges and commended NAF for living up to its responsibilities.

“When I heard of your operations seminar I said, this is the right approach and it will correct minor errors as well as make the service optimal. So I believe the Nigerian Airforce will change from security optimization to something higher.

“For us as a state we are quite elated to be associated with the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). There is no doubt that the Nigerian Airforce has lived up to its statutory responsibilities and objectives over the years.

“It is also gratifying for me to state that the professionalism of the Nigerian Airforce under the leadership of the current Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal I. O Amao, has further given Nigeria a sense of hope and security”, he remarked.

The state Chief Executive stated that his administration which anchored its vision on the three main gateways of Air, Land and Sea to drive industrialization, has made significant progress in the aviation sector, assuring that on completion of a smart airport terminal building and MRO, the aviation sector will be reinvigorated for its operations.

Earlier, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Amao, expressed delight for the support of the state government to NAF and particularly appreciated Governor Emmanuel for gracing the event as special guest of honour.

He explained that the 2022 Operations Seminar on the theme, “Harnessing Nigerian Air Force Combat Experience in Joint Military Operations for Doctrinal Development”, was borne out of the need to reappraise past operational successes and failures in order to re-strategize towards expeditiously ending the current scourge of insecurity.

The seminar, according to the Airforce Chief, will take cognizance of the dynamism and complexity of the ever-changing security architecture and adopt strategies that would promote NAF’s retention of credible air power capability, considering the intrinsic complexities of current warfare, influences of such external factors as international politics, among others.
